Halecat Garden Nursery is unique
We are embarking on an exciting revival of one of the Lake Districts most respected and renowned plant nurseries. Over the next 2 years, we will rebuild the nursery site, structures and grow a fabulous range of plants on the site here at Halecat. We hope you will excuse the temporary pause on sales but can assure you of something very special when we reopen in Spring 2011.

In the meantime, you can follow our progress at www.halecatnurseries.co.uk and by visiting our sister nursery at Summerdale Garden Nursery www.summerdalegardenplants.co.uk

We strongly believe in the traditional methods of plant production and feel that bucking the trend of bought-in plants is something to celebrate and share with visitors to the Nursery.  We look forward to meeting with you soon. Tom and Abi Attwood

HALECAT GARDEN NURSERY... a well known and much loved nursery and plant centre, set in a stunning location within Witherslack Estate, truly a hidden gem of the southern Lake District.

History:

Started in the 1980s by Mr & Mrs Stanley, the nursery became extremely well-known and those who ran it were valued and well sought after for their knowledge and skill.  It is now under new management and is undergoing major refurbishment during 2009 including an undercover cafe and sales area.

Location:

Adjacent to Halecat House, Witherslack near Grange Over Sands, just 1 mile off the A590 (Barrow-Kendal arterial route). Well signed with its own brown tourist attraction signs, leading through the village and then, taking a left hand turn (signposted to 'Newton') to the main gates of Halecat House. To find the nursery follow the driveway until it forks, then take the right hand fork and keep bearing right until you enter the car park, a short distance further on.
